Dennis Jr. graduated with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in 2010. He began his career in the Boston area, working for two years in outpatient clinics before relocating to the West Coast. There, he spent five years at San Francisco General Hospital serving as an outpatient staff therapist and running a post-surgical clinic. In 2014, he achieved board certification as an orthopedic clinical specialist. Dennis joined Smart Physical Therapy in 2015. With over a decade of experience, he continues to provide expert, hands‑on care rooted in an orthopedic and sports medicine approach.
When Dennis Jr. is not at work he enjoys spending time at the beach with his wife and 3 children, as well as running, playing ice hockey, and golfing.
David attended the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology, as well as his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. He has experience working in a variety of different settings, ranging from facilities specializing in strength and conditioning and sports medicine to general outpatient orthopedics. He is motivated to provide the best individualized and patient-centered care possible to ensure lasting treatment results, while also establishing lasting relationships with his patients and the local community.
Outside of the clinic, David enjoys spending time with friends, family, and his golden retriever, Samson, playing golf, and following Boston sports.
Amanda has been a Physical Therapy Aide at Smart since 2024. She currently attends Regis College as an Exercise Science major, and anticipates graduating in May of 2027. She plans to attend a Doctorate of Physical Therapy program after graduation. Amanda discovered her passion for physical therapy through previous injuries as a dancer.
Outside of work, Amanda enjoys going to the gym, baking, and spending time with her family and friends.
Dennis is a dedicated and experienced physical therapist who graduated from Boston University with a degree in Physical Therapy in 1981. Over the past 40 years, he has developed and successfully partnered in the growth of two thriving outpatient physical therapy offices. Early in his career, Dennis provided comprehensive care at Melrose Wakefield Hospital, working across outpatient, inpatient, and home care settings, giving him a well-rounded understanding of patient needs and rehabilitation strategies. Dennis is an active member of the New England Physical Therapy Network (NEPTN), continuously engaging with fellow professionals to stay at the forefront of advancements in physical therapy and sports medicine.
Beyond his professional life, Dennis is a family man with a growing family and boundless energy. When he’s not helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals, you can find him and his wife enjoying time at the YMCA or cherishing moments with their grandchildren.
Sarah earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the MGH Institute of Health Professions. She has experience working with patients of all ages, whether recovering from an injury, managing a chronic condition, or aiming to improve overall function. Sarah has a strong clinical interest in orthopedics and enjoys helping patients regain strength, mobility, and confidence following musculoskeletal injuries or surgeries. She takes a personalized approach—meeting individuals where they are and creating treatment plans that align with their unique goals and physical needs.
When she's not working with patients, Sarah enjoys attending exercise classes, traveling, and spending time with her family and cat, William.
Wendy received her Physical Therapist Assistant degree from Hesser College in 2012, a long over-due compliment to her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education/Movement Science from Gordon College. Smart is the perfect setting for Wendy to work with families and friends in a friendly, caring, patient-centered environment.
In Wendy’s spare time, she can be found playing percussion with local theater groups and community concert and marching bands. In between, she loves to mountain bike, play soccer and enjoy the outdoors with her husband.
